Canon mf284dw MF toolbox error says registered as network printer, but it is a USB only

On my MF284dw

How do I register the MF Toolbox as USB. The Scanner says it is USB, but MF Toolbox can't be accessed.  Does it matter as long as the scans work?

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which operating system is running on your computer (i.e. Windows or macOS, and which version thereof) and how your printer is talking to your computer (i.e. via USB or via Wi-Fi). Yes...I realized I hadn't after I posted, couldn't find an edit button!  Macbook Pro, Tahoe 26.5.1.....USB only.  Personal use at home, only had both units for 5 days. Ex windows user. IO might register the printer on my little home network. Not sure is needed yet. Thanks Danny
