I've been purchasing genuine Canon ink cartridges from Amazon for years, but recently ran into problems ordering new cartridges. The advertisements clearly show pictures of the PCI-1200XL cartridges for sale, but what I've received is the non XL version. This has happened twice now and both times the seller is the Canon Store.

This ad clears says PGI-1200XL Black and Color along with the associated pictures. I received a box with a Black XL cartridge and non XL color cartridges.

This ad clearly shows the box stating Black 1200 XL but what I received was a non XL cartridge.
Amazon has been great taking my returns back, but seriously Canon, your marketing department or whomever is posting these cartridges for sale on Amazon is less than desirable. One might even call the ads deceptive.
The ad says 100+ or 600+ bought in the past month. Am I to believe that all these folks that made these purchases thought they were getting XL cartridges but received the non XL version instead???
Come on Canon, you can do better. I also sent a message to Canon Global. Let's get this debacle fixed.

Canon Store on Amazon is not operated by Canon.

I suggest John's response be marked as a solution by a moderator. Not only is the Canon storefront constructed and managed by Amazon (who is an authorized Canon Dealer), for curiosity I just put a number of RF lenses in my cart. Some were fulfilled by "Amazon.com" and some were fulfilled by other dealers. To the good, all of the dealers were on the Canon Authorized Dealer list. To the bad, one of them sent me a grey market lens at full US retail on one occasion.
In sort, if you're buying from Amazon, you're buying from Amazon, or one of Amazon's third party suppliers and NOT from Canon. MANY of the non-Canon-store purchases are satisfied by third parties that are NOT authorized Canon dealers.
Any issues regarding Canon product purchases from Amazon solely rests with Amazon, not Canon.
