Hello,
I have a Canon Maxify MB 2720 that will not print due to error code 5207. The Printer is OUT of warranty.
I have changed all the ink cartridges. I have powered it on and off several times.
I have tried to pull the plug and press on button 10 times. The error code still comes up with no additional information.
Also, these things are properly verified:
- I updated my drivers and software
- The printer was working fine a few weeks ago
- There is not a paper jam
- The ink trolley moves fine and all of the ink levels are above minimum
- There is correct paper in each try (letter in both)
Are there any other suggestions that I might get this thing to function properly?

Hello,
The 5207 error would point to a problem with the hardware. The issue would point to a problem with the carriage that the inks load into or the nozzle that the ink sprays out of. If replacing the ink did not resolve the issue, it looks like the printer needs service or replacement parts.
Outside of the 1-year warranty, you can contact our sales team at 1-800-385-2155 and use our Upgrade program. The program would give you a discount and free shipping on a replacement printer. We do not have service centers that work on this model, but you can check for any third-party office equipment/printer repair in your area.

I have since moved on to another brand of printer and will never buy a Canon printer again.

The 2720 I bought in April 2025 has been a problem for 6 months and then it just shuts down and despite putting in new yellow ink refuses to operate ( B504) and I cannot find any responses to such issues and it seems to just be junk .

Me again ...Despite the "instructions " and two days of The "B504 " problem ... I just decided since it was junk to do things I was not supposed to and using my hand I moved the ink cartridge to the slot and the white plastic circle until it clicked ( clock wise ) and took out the new ink and wiped the messy end of yellow goo and put it back in and turned it on ...and ,,believe it or not it is printing fine now !!! So apparently it just decided the new ink was bad until I improperly removed it and reinstalled it and it decided it was fine then !!! I will not have to replace it now ! I wish I was not retired and still had a Secretary !!!!
