CANON IR C3380 refuses to print

There is a small office network with 1 windows pc and 1 new mac that share a Canon IR C3380i as a network printer (LAN connected).

The Windows machine ist able to print. We installed the latest PS driver from Canon website. Inside "Add printer" dialog, we selected the printer by its IP address. Then we selected lpd as protocol and selected "Canon iC R2880/3380" as device.

We are able to get informations about the printer (status idle, percent in feeding unit, ...), but when we want the mac to print, we see an entry for a very short time in printer queue. The printer starts doing something, but no printout paper appears. There is no error message ... neither on the printer nor on the mac screen.

Below you can find the system informations (sorry, it's a German OS version 10.10).

Does anyone have an idea how to get it work?

Best regards,
Ralf
