I've just bought the CP1500 and am mostly happy, unfortunately there are a couple of self-defeating seeming issues that are making a great/neat addition to daily life kind of irritating.
I prefer bordered prints. My idea for the Selphy generally is to choose 1 picture from each day and add to a photo collage frame.
Unfortunately, for that pretty simple wish there are a couple of problems that seem to be the team at the selphy app and the team at the cp1500 printer not talking to each other or something.
• border size on printer (when i say "on printer" i mean printing directly from an sd card) is big (½" ish). not ideal but maybe better in case border slightly off. ok. i accept that. I'll do that each day.
•• BUT if i want to print from my phone using selphy app, the border size is ¼" ish. Ok, no problem, I'll go into settings and adjust border size. Ok. Wait... what?! I can't? there are basically no settings in photo app. Ok... surely changes made "on printer" will translate to app? no.
same situation with date
• actually kind of a cool date thing where it's like an imprint that is the "not prominent" option on printer. to tell truth I hadn't planned on doing dates on prints but with this option I really like that this "daily picture" project will be properly stamped.
•• ok so... let's do "date on" from selphy app... ok, wait... what?! there is no option for "not prominent" and the date is printed bright orange. Ok, same as before, let's change that, surely I can change that in the settings on the fancy app since I can change it on printer? no. why? no one knows.
AT LEAST it would be nice if you could simply print from app OR on printer and get same results. it appears this is not possible, at least in regards to border size and date.
Should I stop being stubborn and just print borderless no date? Probably. But I mean... this doesn't seem like a huge ask, to have consistency?
Also I can be dumb and may have simply missed these options in the app in particular.
Anybody know anything about this?

Hello!
The Canon Community isn't intended for immediate assistance from Canon USA, but rather for other Canon users to chime in and help if they have the answers.
If your question is of an urgent nature, please feel free to check out your support options HERE.

It's not urgent, but the whole point of forums is to *share answers* so that if someone happens to have the same issue in the future, the answer can be found via search engines. So, if a Canon employee or moderator has input or answers, they are more than welcome to respond, rather than telling someone what a forum is.

Also, by posting here I'm letting Canon know that at least one user has an issue that frankly is an easy fix and thus an easy opportunity to bond the brand to the user, which, again, telling someone what a forum is for will probably not do.

Your reply indicated you were unhappy that you were not receiving immediate support. My reply let you know, that's not what this community is for. We have already shared your post with a product expert, however they are not dedicated employees for this community, so their response is not immediate, as I mentioned.

Just circling back here. my reply didn't mean i was "unhappy" it meant maybe not a great purchase. why? because tech products partnered with zero support are iffy at best. dinosaur companies don't seem to get that as much as branding and momentum, support, service, friendliness go a long way to help establish a connection to the brand long term. So, no response in a forum where apparently there are moderators is indeed not that wonderful.
And, two things: I did reach out to support directly about this *very simple question*: can the border sizes be same between app and device or am i missing something?
Guess what I've heard back? Nothing AT ALL. I heard the same from them as I heard from you "I've shared this with someone else at Canon". Well... sorry not sorry but I don't really want my question to be shared, I want a simple answer to a basic question. Like, I'm not even rushing it. It's bizarre to get grief from a moderator about whether or not I should post a question here and whether I am "happy" or not.
