Hi,

I recommend performing a reset of the printer. While the printer is on, unplug the power cord from the printer. While the power is off, press the power button 5 times. After 60 seconds plug the power cord back in and power on the printer.

If the issue persists, the printer would require service due to an internal hardware issue.

Since the printer was purchased pre-owned, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST excluding holidays.

Hello,

Same happened to me, I got used CP1300 and it won't go forward from CANON screen, but seeing the answer seem to be based in US .. Would I get the same answer for me in UK?

Hi, I am facing the same issue with CP1500 SELPHY. Is there a way to hard reset or restart? I tried the same suggested solution, but it did not work.

Same here. I just got CP 1300 and the same issue. I was going to buy brand new CP1500 and wanted to try CP 1300 first but now I won't bother as Canon obviously produces faulty printers. Google the issue we are not alone here.

Same here, faulty, no help from Canon

The only way they say to reset is through power cycle, this never works with CP 1300 printers as they have a factory defect, they should recall this printer.

Thanks ArthurJ

this doesn't work, we are all stuck with Canon's faulty product, it looks like CP1500 suffers from the same fault.

Hi Anax2000,

It would appear that your SELPHY CP1300 may require service.  To obtain service, click on Service & Support on the left side of your My Canon account.

On the next page, click on the red Get Service & Support button to the right of your SELPHY CP1300.

Then on the page that appears, scroll down and click on the Start Repair button and follow the prompts to schedule repair.
