Hi there

i have the TR150 which has barely printed 100 pages, well looked after.

It is showing Support code 5100 - foreign objects inside.

there is no jam, no paper stuck.

Normally the ink holder on the right moves across, but looks like it is not doing so.

any ideas?

thanks

Hi Interdinoc! Thanks for posting in the Canon Community Forum. I understand that your Canon PIXMA TR150 is showing a 5100 error.

I see that you have already checked the printer for a paper jam or obstruction, and you did not find anything stuck in the printer The next troubleshooting step would be to turn the printer off and disconnect the power cable or power source. If you are using a battery pack to power the printer, please remove it from the printer after turning it off. Once power is disconnected/removed, please wait a minute before reconnecting.

Removing the power from the printer will reset its error circuit. If the error keeps coming back after you reconnect the power and turn the printer on, that means that there is something broken or not working properly inside the printer. The printer requires service.

We do not have repair options for the printer. If you purchased the printer within the last year and have a receipt that shows the purchase information, we can setup a warranty exchange for a new printer. Please create a My Canon account and register the printer so you can contact support via chat or phone. If you have already registered your printer, you can sign into your account to check your support options.

Please use the following link to create or open your account:

https://myprofile.americas.canon.com/us/signin

After you create your account and register the printer, you can click on SERVICE & SUPPORT (in the left column) on the left side of your Canon account page. Then, click on the red box that says GET SERVICE & SUPPORT (to the right of your printer) to find information on the phone and chat support options.

If the printer is no longer in warranty, it may be more cost effective to purchase a new printer instead of paying for a repair. You can use any Printer Repair or Electronic Repair shop in your area if you wish to pay for a repair. Through our Canon Upgrade Program, we can offer you a discount and free shipping on a new printer if the warranty is expired. If you are interested in that, please call (866) 443-8002 from 9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. (Eastern Time), Monday through Friday to speak with one of our sales agents who would be happy to help you.

I hope this information helps. Thanks again.
