uploading photos to computer

I am having trouble uploading photos from my camera to the computer.  It has always worked fine until the last week or so.  Please help.

I tried uploading the pics to Photos on my windows 10 and it didnt work.  Getting a head ache from all this research, guess I'll get me a card reader.  Thanks for the comeback.  Dont want to print them, just transfer them to my pc.

Card reader is best. And less likely to result in damage to your camera.

UPDATE:  After much research I found out that there is a setting on the camera in the menu that you change from "PC" to "PTP" and now I can upload pics to my Photo app in Windows 10.  Please get the word out to everyone.  This worked great on my Canon EOS 20D Digital Camera.  I don't need a card reader after all.  I hope this helps other people as much as it did me.
