is it me?

Is it me or is Canon now a **bleep**e company with **bleep**e support? I asked questions to the facebook page and they blocked me and laughed about....odd, as it was a simple question about support for my year-old printer that decided to hop off wi-fi and won't go back on. The Canon instructions are confusingly written (ie; only eventually, in one place, did it clarify/deliberately state that the button sequence is not simultaneous but sequential) and I feel they should support their products clearly and with pride. That was embarrassing...to have the FB clown posse block me....but no one seems to care @ Canon.

This will be reflected in my reviews and not buying their product (of which I've owned many!) any more.

Hi and thanks for posting!  While we're not sure what might have transpired on Facebook, our moderators enforce many of the same rules here on the forum and behaviors that can get someone blocked include posting spam, posting inappropriate material, and being abusive toward others.  If you still need help with a Canon product, you're welcome to post about it here and your fellow Canon users will be glad to chime in if they've got any advice.  You can also take advantage of all of your support options, including our over-the-phone support, via your MyCanon account.

We look forward to assisting you!

Hi, Danny. Well, it's not spam, it's hardly inappropriate and least of all abusive, so I reckon my post can stay. That said....after countless dead-ends with Canon, including alleged phone support, I still don't have any understanding of why the printer would suddenly vacate wi-fi and not cooperate getting back on. I've walked through the instructions many times. Not only has it not given my connection back, it doesn't seem to to respond to the commands as the instructions indicate. Bear in mind it's a reasonably new printer that has been babied. Perhaps someone here would know an option, because it hasn't been forthcoming from Canon.

Thanks for the insight!  Let's start by having you go to our Printer Software & Networking board and once you're there, hit the red "Start a Conversation" button.  When writing your post, be sure to include vital information like your printer model and the operating system of the computer or mobile device on the other end along with anything else that paints the most complete picture of the problem you're encountering.

We look forward to seeing your post!

@hudathunk,

I'll help you.  Please do as Danny asked and start a new thread on the Printers board.

Please include the model of your printer.  The OS version and build you are using it with as well as information about your network and wireless hardware.  Any information, or observations, plus troubleshooting steps you tried would also be helpful.

We'll do our best to help you get the problem resolved.
