Last few days there have been rumors about a small 7-8% price increase for Camera's and Lenses across the board. They may come as early as Monday 4/21.
Canon is a Japanese company so the year end is at the end of March. They should also be reporting financials for last year next week.
No need for panic buying, but if you have your eye on something, it might be a good time to pull the trigger.

Hi everyone,
All imported electronics from Japan will have a 10% tariff starting 4-21-2025 and additional 24% reciprocal tariff to come soon after. So, if you're looking to purchase Canon products, I would consider purchasing it asap. I saw this coming last year, so I did all of my major purchases in November 2024. There are sales to be had on items that were imported prior to the tariff's implementation dates. Also, sales have slowed down due to the uncertainty in the market and therefore prices have dropped on products to entice consumers to shop. So, with all of the uncertainty in the market there are at the moment plenty of good deals to be had. The question is can one afford to spend while this uncertainty of higher inflation and unemployment looms over the market. The good news is for buyers of Japanese products is that the $800.00 de minimis threshold still applies to parcels from Japan. This means that if the total value of your shipment (including shipping fees) is under $800.00, it is exempt from custom duties. However, US authorities have signaled that this exemption could change in the near future. It is recommended staying up to date with the latest policy developments. Also take into account the USD to JPY exchange rates fluctuations.

Greetings ,
I talked about price increases in late April. They are here now. Canon has made a modest price increase, but the tariffs have also contributed.
There are still some lower price deals out there, so if you're thinking about buying something you may want to do it now.
