can't create account, invalid email address

I am trying to create an account and it keeps saying invalid email address, I have tried everything I can think of, using a different browser, a second email, clearing my cache, updating everything. Nothing has worked. Does anyone know what the issue is and or have any suggestions on how to resolve the issue?
