Canon P23-DHV Dropped and now prints number 8

Hello, I have a friend that accidently knocked her Canon P23-DHV off her desk and now when ever you press any key, even paper advance it prints the number 8. I have checked the keys and none are stuck down, I have checked the ribbon, used the reset button and nothing works. Is it beyond hope? Thanks BP

Probably so.  There is no magic fix for something thats been dropped.  Fortunately, its only a $40 mistake.
