Bought Canon Carepak Plus can't activate for some odd reason

So I recently bought the Canon CarePak coverage for my refurbished RF 28-70 2.8mm I bought online from the Canon Online Store on 11/24/2025

I technically still have 5 days to buy Canon CarePak for the lens and I bought it this morning. I received the activation code, but I found odd because previous purchases made with my Canon account automatically added the lens into the product registration area with the Carepak coverage.

Even when I copied and pasted the Carepak activation code on the website it says there's a problem.

Now i'm stuck here having paid $119 and the activation code won't even work. Anyone else have this problem before?

Greetings,

Like you, most of my experiences have been similar.  New and refurbished products I've purchased with CarePak typically arrive registered and activated.

On the few occasions I've had to do it myself, I've not had any problems applying a CarePak activation to my product.

If you're not able to apply the activation code to your product, I'd call support.

Ensure the product is registered in your MyCanon account, then call the number below.

Wanted to give an update to the situation in case anyone else runs into this issue. Called Carepak Support and they weren't able to add the carepak to my lens on the phone so they took down info and escalated the case. 5 hours later I got a response and emails saying my lens is registered and carepak is now activated!

Thanks for the assistance!

Great news. I knew there'd be a positive outcome with their help.
