10 x 30 IS Broken battery cover on binoculars

I have 10 X 30 IS Binoculars that have a broken battery cover. I have a new cover and the clip that holds it in. What I can't do is remove the clip that held the old cover in place. No matter how I move it, it will not come out. How do I get it out.
