EOS Webcam Utility stopped working on Mac

peterept

I upgraded my Mac M1 today to 13.5.1 (22G90).

Using my Canon camera as a webcam is no longer working, I only see this in my meetings:

I tried rebooting mac, camera, etc. Unplugged cables, etc.

The preview window in the EOS Webcam utility works correctly, and it shows an active session to the VC app.

I am on an active subscription.

Any ideas?

Hi peterept,

One thing to double check would be to try updating your EOS Webcam Utility. If it is an older version it can cause issues like this. You can download the current version HERE. Once you are on the web page click on the Software & Drivers button and the current version is EOS Webcam Utility Pro 2.0.30. I don't see a listing for the camera body you have. If it is different from the product page I linked that is okay because that version of the software is current for all of our EOS Webcam Utility compatible cameras.

If the issue continues after updating the software I need to double check one thing. You mentioned the preview window in EOS Webcam Utility works correctly. So just to double check, when you open the EOS Webcam Utility do you see the live video feed in that software, or is it blank there as well?
