spots on picture

IMG_1302.JPGHey guys, please look at this image, and blow it up. There are spots in the background that I can't get rid of. It must be in the lens as I have cleaned the lens front and back, and the filers. Any idea how to fix this?

Hi, richgreenwood!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which Canon camera you're using. That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, search our knowledge base or contact our US-based technical support team at http://canon.us/SupportCF

Thanks and have a great day!

I am using a Canon T6. I have a second one so I am going to switch lenses and reshoot today to see if the marks are still there, then I will know if it is a lens problem or camera.

Usually dust inside of or even on the outside of a lens won't show up.  They (dust particles) are OOF (out-of-focus).

You can clean a sensor but I would not suggest it to someone with limited knowledge.  This is a good rule to follow, don't put anything smaller than a football inside your ear or camera.  If you suspect a dirty or contaminated sensor find a shop or send it to Canon for a C&C.  At the very least find some one that has done it successfully before first.

EOS 1DX and 1D Mk IV and less lenses then before!

99.9% likely it is sensor dust.

As ebiggs1 said, have a qualified individual clean it. Its easy for someone who jknows how.

To really complicate this, I went back and took some shots. With every lens I can see the spots, so I have eliminated the lens as the problem. It is funny that when I went back, I can see the spots through the viewfinder also. Possible the mirror and the sensor have been contaminated. Obviously this is a serious problem that I need to resolve, so I think I will look for a qualified shop to clean it.

Spots or dust on the mirror will not show up in your photos either.

Probably not the same spots. Looks like sensor and viewing screen have been contaminated.
