single point focus in A+

I cannot get the button and dial just above the shutter button (selector dial) in A+ mode to show the grid that is needed to set single point focus. Thoughts?

Hello debskovach welcome to the forums and happy holidays. Can you please post the mode of your camera that you're using. Most settings such as focus points CAN NOT be changed in (A+ Mode) or any other automated modes (Basic Zone). Changes to focus points can be made in the (Creative Zone) M, Av, Tv and P modes.
