problem videoing on eos600d

hi hoping you can help.i have a canon eos600d.the picture taking is fine but i tried to take a video today and the following happened....put camera on movie mode, the pic through the lcd is very dark.the lights are on in the room.when we video the recording itself is also very dark.could you pls provide a step by step fix  and not just say the resilution is incorrect for example

It's not about the camera that creates the problem. It's about the user not understanding the basics of settings.

Try auto ISO or adjust the aperture to take in more light.
