I don't have the 70D to know, but if it is like the 6D where they don't let you custom WB button to any button then it is shame on you Canon.

It is not possible to set White Balance to any of the Custom Controls.

I have no idea what is going on in the heads of the "developers" at Canon. You guys really have to stop intentionally crippling these cameras.

I think they think "people will shot raw and they don't need WB anymore". This can be changed via firmware, I hope they will listen but doubt it.

Exactly. The idea to add the custom function should have happened the instant they decided to not put a WB button on the back.
