I've used VF exclusively, so I only use the touch screen to move the focus points. If you are using the touch-focus/shooting with the LCD all the time, then you can reassign the AF-ON button for another function.
Only if you touch it really hard. I flipped the LCD on its side and touch it slightly. No camera shake at all. Way better than holding down the shutter release in your T3.
Yes, it doesn't have sight-limit like IR remote. You can also use your smartphone to trigger it. I find a smartphone is better because you can choose focus, change shooting info, etc. and free.
