Using WiFi with a T7

I have a Rebel T7. I am trying to connect the WiFi to my computer. I went into the WiFi settings and selected Manual settings. Then it displalyed the SSID = EOS-cannon. Then I selected "Open system" and None for encryption. But that ends up saying "Selected SSID wireless LAN network not found". So that means I don't understand ... I thought I was setting the camera to an IP address that would show up on the computer.

I have searched the manual but can't find any info on using WiFi.

Can someone please explain how the WiFi works on the Cannon T7?

Here is a link to the Canon Product Support page for the Rebel T7.  You can download software, firmware, and manuals.

The WiFi Instruction Manual is near the bottom of the listing.

There is no information on how to connect the camera to the computer by WiFi. I'm not sure why they have this on here, apparently it isn't a real option?

Hello, artsyone76!

Welcome to the Canon Community Forum!

The user manual with instructions for all wireless functions of the Rebel T7 can be found here: https://canon.us/35yZ3uh

We hope this helps!

WiFi on the camera is most likely simplex only. The computer is expecting a duplex connection whereas a printer can only except simplex.
