Hi guys, just wondered if 21K is a good shutter count for a secondhand Canon 5D MarkII or is it not worth considering at all? Thanks for your help.

The shutter mechanism should have a lot of life left in it; Canon rates the shutter assembly in this model as having a MTBF of 150K.  That doesn't guarantee that it won't fail before then (and of course the warranty on the camera is expired) but it does mean that the model has a very good chance of making it well past 150K actuations.

If the price is right and everything else checks out, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.  It has to be at least close to 7 years old and maybe as old as 10 so it obivously wasn't used a lot.

Thanks for your help!

Good luck with your purchase Monika and make sure that the camera gets the usage it deserves 🙂

Between my 1DX and 1DX II bodies they get far more than that shutter count added each year.

Do give the camera a thorough check before buying to make sure it is working properly.
