Okay after a week of trying and failing, I've decided to turn to the experts. I have a Canon Rebel XTi that is supposed to be used for a gel imager (if you're curious), but I can't figure out how to set it up for live-view shooting. I've tried every version of EOS Utility I can find (2.0-3.0), but so far none of them connect to the camera. I need to control the exposure, focus, and shutter speed from a computer. Is there a 3rd party software I can use for live-view shooting? Is this even possible? Thank you in advance for any input, I'm completely lost!

The camera does not support live view or movies.

Oof I wish! I work at a startup nonprofit, so odds are it'll be a year of manually taking the photos until we get a volunteer that donates a newer camera >п<

Buy it for yourself! WHat a great "excuse" to get a new camera.
