R6II Rattle When ON (Not IBIS?)

I just bought an R6 Mk II. When to camera is off, it makes the usual rattle from IBIS, but when the camera is on, there is still a slight rattle just not as strong. Is that normal? I own an R7 and another Sony model with IBIS and both are silent when on.

Why are you shaking your cameras on purpose?

I will leave it to others to address whether it is normal, but mine does the same, so I hope so!  Mine is pretty faint when on compared to when off, and seems to be about the same whether I have an IS or non-IS lens mounted, though I'd say a bit less with the IS lenses (I tried the RF 35mm f/2.8, RF 15-35 f/2.8, and RF 24-105 f/4).

That’s reassuring! Thanks! I hope other owners can comment too.

I have never heard my R6ii rattle.  I always have a lens on it.  I make sure to turn off power when mounting and dismounting a lens.

It's normal.

My wife has had hers for several years and we've never noticed it, but for this post I just shook hers, paid attention, and it has a slight rattle.

My speculation is that it's mostly the parked shutter blades. They definitely rattle when down (power off) when given a shake. There also may be a slight bit of movement from the sensor assembly even though when powered up, the IBIS controls it's movement when needed. That's just a guess based on my understanding of the way IBIS works.

Thanks Newton.  I really had never shaken mine to listen until I saw this post - I have had it for almost a year now and it works just fine.  I learn all sort of things from other posters on the site!
