Hello!
When I turn my camera off, the top lcd screen stays partially on (it is not fully lit up, but it shows the M setting and is not fully dark like when there’s no power). If I leave it like this in the “off” setting, it fully drains my battery pretty quickly. I’ve been having to unscrew my battery grip every time I am not using the camera so that the battery is not used.
Haven’t been able to find anyone talking about this issue and would really appreciate any help!! Thanks!

Hi AtticusLake,
I agree, I cannot image the reflective LCD is using enough power to cause significant battery drain. Also agree in regards to wake sources. Its not a power draw, I'm just noting the behavior when the door is opened or media is introduced.
I do think something else is going on here. Unfortunately, I do not appear to have a way to reproduce it. I may pick up a battery grip at some point. Thus far I'm using USB-C PD so I haven't had a need for the grip.

I have several cameras and they all drain over a period of time when the battery is left in. The documentation I have read recommends removing the battery from the camera when not in use - the battery may still drain over time, but at a much slower pace.

Totally good advice. But having owned a C70, R5, and R5C, I think the R5 is particularly bad for this. My R5C has been sitting on the table for days with the battery in, and it's still showing full. I don't have the R5 any more, but I'm pretty sure it would have been out by now.
