R5 Custom modes, save to different memory slots?

When using C1, 2, & 3, I'd like to save photos to one of them - the cf express card in slot 1. C1 is for BIF and I'll shoot on hi+ at fast shutter speeds. The other 2 modes won't need the speed. Is it possible to change just C1 to save to #1?

The card selected is the same for all custom modes. You cannot select C1 to write a file to the CFexpress and then have C2 write images to the SD card, the only way to switch the card being written to is from the menu or quick display on the camera

Greetings,

Thats an interesting request.  Not one I've heard made before.  The premise behind custom functions are shooting settings, not custom save locations.  I don't think this would be possible since recording behavior is not tied to a setting function.   You can control the file type, and which card, but I doubt you can make individual recordings to one or the other card by grouping it with custom settings.  Great if you can let us know your findings.

Maybe others have thoughts on this.

The manual is vague when it says "such as menu, shooting and Custom Function settings". I think the easiest thing is to just try it.

Greetings,

I did more research.  I think it might be possible with *limited application based on this:

Are you worried about card capacity? You can configure C2 and C3 to whatever mode, shutter speed and shooting speed you want.
