I am trying to help a student who owns an eos R10 with a kit lens 18-45mm
The camera will not go into AF mode, it does not respond to the AF/MF switch on the front of the camera body.
Things we have tried:
Suggestions?

Have you tried removing the lens and re-installing it? Have you tried another lens?
What happens when you take a photo with the camera?

Sounds like the switch is broken. It will probably need to be sent to Canon. While the DOF preview button is customizable, I don't see that the AF/MF switch is.

Well, I just experienced this.. but it was my fault.. and on an RF 600/f11 lens.. I didn't realize I'd switched it to 'MF' on the lens when I was attaching it. I tested all my other lenses and AF worked great. So, just a note to others to check your lens to be sure it's not on MF. duh! sorry for the obvious.. but it happened to me!
