Question on Bluetooth to my M100

When I Bluetooth pair using Camera Connect, I am asked to turn on wifi on my phone.

All goes well and I get a message saying I am connected via Bluetooth.

Why does wifi have to be on in order to use Bluetooth ?

Even though they're different protocols, they probably use the same RF transmitter.

That doesn't answer why the wifi must be on when using Bluetooth.  When I use my phones Bluetooth with other devices (earphones, car radio, etc) I don't need my phone's wifi to be on.

What is there about Canon Camera Connect  that requires wifi ?
