Purchased the R10, it says max temp is 104 ° F but sometimes we get up to 114 ° F

I am curious if I should not use my camera when the temperature outside is over 104° F, or if its more of a guideline? It sometimes gets over 110° F outside so limiting to the 104 would make at least two months of the year I can't use the camera outside. It would be on half hour walks. Thank you!

Keep it out of direct sunlight and it should be OK to use.  Heavy usage in high temperature will lead to higher internal temperature so I wouldn't want that sort of limitation on a camera body I used for shooting sports but while you are walking around and not constantly capturing images it will be fine.

You can be confident that these bodies will see far over 104F ambient during shipping to many locations during much of the year.  Don't use a high duty cycle mode (i.e. sustained video) in this sort of ambient and the camera should work without issue.

Those seem to be very conservative, most of us have used our cameras in much lower than 32F temperatures. Your camera should be fine, just try to leave it out of direct sun, and expect high-rate video to be thermal limited.

However, if you do have an issue at 105 F, don't complain to Canon!

Thank you. Yeah I plan on babying it haha. That's why i want to make sure i would not destroy it in the summer heat.
