New t6i hdmi

Can't seem to get my camera to connect to my tv using the HDMI cable. Any help greatly appreciated.

What is is/not happening? My T6S works fine.

Try a new HDMI cable. Does the LCD go black when you plug in the HDMI cable?

LCD picture stays on, tv says no signal.

If the LCD stays on it is almost certainly a bad cable. When the camera senses an HDMI source and starts outputting an HDMI signal, it turns off the LCD
