Picked up a new R5ii last week and leaving a 6ii. I have not done much volume with it yet but having issues with it disconnecting from Camera Connect app. It will download 1 to maybe 13 photos in RAW and disconnect. I have to turn the camera off to even get my Samsung phone to reconnect to the camera. Once it disconnects it won't let me access the photos on the app. Never had an issue on the 6ii and had one shoot of about 1900 photos.

Evening all. After weeks of 'email tennis' with Canon they have finally agreed there is an issue with connectivity between th EOS R5Mk2 and Camera connect using wireless connection on Android devices. They informed me today they tried it on two Android phones and both crashed after only uploading 20 or so images. Advised they have forwarded the findings to their development team and to keep an eye out for a firmware update, wonder how long that will take, don't hold your breath, lol!

After one day of successful connection and picture tranfers, my Android phone and EOS 5D Mark IV will no longer connect. The above photo shows the screen I get no matter how I try to connect.

I am having similar problems with my Canon 5D Mark IV. At first, it connected to the camera connect app with no problem. Even transferred a few pictures over to my phone. Shutdown, turn everything off. The next day after taking a few pictures, my phone and camera would not reconnect. I reply earlier to another post, but I'm hoping this firmware update will help me. I wonder how Canon will notify us when it is available.

Connectivity between my R5M2 worked with my iPhone 13pro; however. I just upgraded to an iPhone 16 Pro and I’m now experiencing the same issues experienced by others here.
My camera displays Error details: Err11 after it drops the connection with my phone.
The only remedy is to delete the camera from Camera Connect and the reconnect. But that provides a connection that is temporary as the same error occurs in a few minutes or within an hour.
FWiW:
camera firmware: v1.0.3
Canon Connect: v3.4.1.9 (build 1427)
iOS: v18.4.1
IPhone: 16 Pro

Not trying to be smart or anything but, welcome to the group. Canon has no solution to this problem. Although I still have camera connect on my phone, I gave up trying to make it work. I brought an adapter that allows me to take my S/D card and or my Compact Flash card out of my camera and download them to my iPad. Than, if I need them on my phone. I email them to myself. It's a little more work but, its never failed me.

Thanks for your comment. Really annoying that Canon can't offer a solution. To me it's simple, it works fine on all my other Cameras, R3 and R7 so why not examine the software in those units and compare to the R5M2, surely the problem would be obvious! But who am I to work out the finer engineering problems of mirrorless cameras, lol. Latest email from Canon was unsatisfactory too, just saying they are aware of the issue and to wait for a firmware update, of which I'm led to believe there's a major one on the horizon! Helpful, thanks for nothing!

Hi everyone, still same issue here and I can't believe it has been such a long time since. I intended to trasfer my raw pic to my phone as jpeg for sharing more conveniently. And I suspect this is a built-infunction for such a modern camera. It works somwtimes, and I can quickly share my shots with friends and families. But all in a sudden some of the pics just cannot be transformed and transferred. And it seems like every picture from the same burst will trigger the error. Not sure how it happens. Something related to overheating when converting format? Or when reading out raw pics from whichever card? Canon really needs to think about this 😞

Hi Panguin747,
I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with transferring RAW photos as well. What model camera are you using? When the photos don't transfer do you see any error messages on either the camera or the phone? How many images are you trying to transfer at once?

Hi.I am using a R5 mk2 and I am transferring anywhere between 10 and 400 images as an average. As I mentioned in my previous posts, I have an R3 and an R7 and have never experienced any issues whether transferring one or five thousand images?
