My canon has a black spot on the mirror but doesn’t show it on the picture.

Hi all! My canon has a black spot on the every time if I put my eyes closer as you can see above next to the black backpack, there is one small spot on it .. is this scratch or something? I have tried sensor cleaning function.. but it doesn’t work .. please help me 🥲🥲🥲🥲

If it is the mirror (and not the sensor) it will not affect your pictures. The mirror sees the image from the lens to the viewfinder and when you actuate the shutter it moves up and the image goes straight to the sensor.

Given how sharp the spot looks I suspect it is not on the mirror but rather on the focusing screen. You can remove the lens and look at the focusing screen. It sill won't affect your photos.

I agree John and that is a common occurrence with cameras from low cost to high end.  I am sure that my 1DX II and 1DX III bodies all have a spot or two on the focusing screen but I never notice them.  Since I shoot primarily sports, a small spot on the focusing screen is no more noticeable than a "gnat splat" on your car windshield when an 80,000 pound semi is flying at you at interstate speed 🙂

I have a T8i and mine does too. I used to freak out about it, but I don't pay any attention to it now. It doesn't show up on my pictures, and as near as I can tell, it doesn't show up in Live View either.
