I want to buy a 1.4 or 2.0 extender for my 70D but I was told my camera would not autococus using the extenders and I would have to manually focus. Is this correct?

John you do realize this is a 6 year old thread? I doubt the OP is around or interested any longer. They either bought or didn't by now.

yes its true I return mine today. i had the 1
ef usm 100-400 zoom the 4.5 f stop becomes 9.0 at best auto zoom I tried auto focus but results were not that great

typo I meant auto focus will not work. on my 60D with 2x cannon extender 3 manual focus results were not great
