On the back panel you have those 4 buttons arranged in a circle. I believe it's the left of those, it should have an icon of 3 or 4 rectangles laid over each other (at least that's what it was on my 450D. That will take you to a menu that allows you to choose your shooting mode. Rapid fire should be an icon that looks like the one described above.
