It’s along story. I suggest that you download the User Guide from the product support page. Begin on page 169.

Mr. Waddizzle,

I went to page 172 in the User Guide where it starts with AEB, but no where do I see anything beyond taking a single shot, or 3 shots in AEB. I'm looking for guidance on 5 and 7-step AEB.

thx

I'm not sure where in the manual. On the camera - look in the Custom Function 1, "C. Fn1: Exposure"(orange) and select "Number of bracketed shots". It's mostly in the same place (Custom functions) on all the R's 🙂

FloridaDrafter,

I could use a little more help. I've set my exposure level increments to 1/2 and number of bracketed shots to 7. Now, how do I take 7 sequential shots at 1/2 stop increments? Does it do it automatically? I took a test shot and it only took one frame. Then, how do you disengage so I can take regular shots again?

do I have to make this a "C1" setting?

My first post tells you how to do all that.  But first , if you want to set 1/2 increments, then you will need to change your exposure increments from 1/3 to 1/2.

No, you don't need to us a Custom setting (C1,2,3). You can chose whether to do only one sequence or leave AEB enabled for more shots. In the Orange Camera menu, Item 1, you will see the option "Bracketing auto cancel" (page 863), you can set this to ON or OFF (I set mine to OFF).

As to your test only taking one frame, that's the way it works by default. So to get all 7 frames, you need to depress the shutter button 7 times. Now, what most folks do is go into drive mode and select either the 2 or 10 second timer. That will make the camera take all 7 of your shots.

I hope this helps,

Newton
