Hello all,

I'd greatly appreciate guidance on a dependable and reasonably priced place to have the shutter assembly replaced on my 90D.

Thank you!

A Canon service centre would be the logical choice.

Thanks but I'm looking for something much more specific. Preferably a first hand experience recommendation.

You probably need to provide some info on where you live.

Thank you. I live in Southern California. However, of course, I can ship the camera anywhere on the little blue marble.  🙂

Except shipping and insurance can be expensive. Maybe some of our SoCal members can provide info.

A Canon USA Factory Service Center is located in Costa Mesa California according to the repair booking forms.

+1 what Brian said.  If Canon is close by, it's the best bet.  If you live near Sammy's, that's another good one.

I'd still go to Canon first if I could.

I'd like to sincerely thank everyone for taking the time and investing the effort to respond. So very kind of you all! 😊

I disassembled the camera and repaired it myself. Of all things an Argentine ant had gotten into the shutter plates and got squished in the corner which was buckling one of the plates and not allowing the other plates to close. I dissembled it, pulled out the shutter assembly, removed the remains of the ant, cleaned the plate slots and it's just as it was. Yay!

Thanks again for the responses.
