Found professional Canon camera at Belgrade Airport: Help returning to owner?

Simicaca
Apprentice

Hello,

I found professional Canon camera equipment at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport and I am trying to help return it to the owner.

The owner can identify the equipment using serial numbers, RAW files, photos, or purchase records.

If there is any way to share this information with the Canon community or relevant support channels, I would appreciate it.

Best regards

Lee I appreciate your perspective and it's good to know that we are on opposite ends when it comes to our view of mankind and the ethics that drive them to help their fellow man.

Wow, let's talk about taking a dive into the deep end. Talk about taking a post off topic.

All the OP wanted to do was protect and help someone find their gear and it turns into drug drama and explosive devices. If the post is a hoax you guys took the bait and turned the thread into a real who-done-it made for TV movie. Its a great representation for anyone coming here for help. Hopefully this isn't the first thread they read.

Why do you feel the need to disrespect others and issue your judgement in a demeaning way?

If you can't be respectful and tolerant of opinions other than your own, then don't respond.

Thank you for your demeaning judgment.

It's not a judgement it's an observation based on what was posted and what I read. You have every right to your opinion, as do I.

You find it illogical and suspicious and I find it helpful and cautious.

Posting pictures as you stated "As for keeping it and not sharing the model and details, that in no way would have complicated things". This would remove the element of anyone having to give accurate detail of the gear. This one item would clearly define accuracy for anyone attempting to claim to the gear.

And as for anyone being judgemental, I believe that the OP has been judged from the beginning as "My spidey sense tells me this is not a credible post."

While it could be true posting something like that may not be appropriate, judged as false with the third response. We are here to assist our guests. In the end if the post is a fraud the moderators will clean it up.

As a wise man once stated within the Illuminary Team that is an excellent thought: remain positive, helpful and kind. Keep an open mind. Be open to others perspectives.

Look at the way our guest is being treated when all they were attempting to do was assist someone locating their gear. They were accused of being a fraud. That is not what the Illuminary Team was designed for nor is it respectful to the guest. Being judged almost immediately as a fraud.

So is it demeaning, an opinion or honest? Nobody was singled out in any response but what this thread, which started out as someone attempting to help evolved into a judgement of the OP's intent, it is a bit embarrassing.

I clearly need to set a boundary with you given your choice in this thread to be all over me with your repeated "responses".

Three things I hope you will take to heart:

1.  If someone feels judged by what another person says to them, but that person did not intend judgment, then that person apologizes. They don't explain themselves; they apologize. They apologize without explanation and they stop talking because they need to listen. It goes something like this: "I am sorry that how I spoke to you caused you to feel judged. I apologize. I will work harder to choose my words differently going forward. I value you." I have the ability to apologize if my words cause that feeling with another person.

2. I don't argue with people who need attention more than logic.

3. I have no time for people who write essays with quotes cut and pasted into the text to nitpick and to stir up drama. I don't sit at my keyboard all day trolling and writing stabby (sic) text to people. My record here is one of positivity and respect, and I have demonstrated that since day one. Thus, I will not tolerate disrespect when disrespect happens to myself or to others.

Going forward, I am setting this boundary with you and I would respectfully ask you not to respond to me if you cannot accept any opinion or perspective other than your own.

Calling someone's post not a credible post or illogical and suspicious is judgemental. I believe you owe them an apology.

You have your opinions but seemed challenged by others that don’t align with yours. You don't like my opinions, its simple, ignore them but I maintain my right to free speech. If the moderators deem something I say as inappropriate and remove it I respect their position.

The Illuminary Team has a specific task/goal, to assist our guests to the best of our ability based on their request without bias.

Moderators are in their position to validate the content of the forums and their validity.
