Extending lens hood improves AF ability on EOS RP

fyi, I just discovered that autofocus is achieved much more reliably in a room with standard recessed lighting at night with the flexible lens hood extended on EOS RP w/ EF 50mm f/1.4 USM.

Hmm, I find that odd but interesting.  I suspect it is a situation advantage VS a true AF improving condition. I almost always recommend folks use a hood. It can help reduce and/or eliminate side light or reflections from entering the lens.
