My pictures were there yesterday. I transferred them to my pc. But didn’t save them. I just went to look at something and they are gone! Pluggers camera into computer. They are not there m. Only 10 pictures are there. There were 300 photos and 4 videos! Now all gone! Anyway to recover the files?

I’m confused “Move”. Copy. Was I supposed to select or enable something here. This was the first time I ever used this camera. My previous Eos cam never did this. Files always just stayed on the card after unplugging it. But then why are there 7 pictures still there but the other 283 and 7 videos are gone. Those 7 pictures were transferred too.
so they are just gone? If so that really sucks and I’m screwed. Since my assignment request more photos

The fact that it is a new camera wouldn’t affect how images are downloaded as long as you were using the same software and process.

Yep same thing I always did. But yep they are just gone! Weird. Thank You again for all your help. I appreciate it.

I appreciate all your help. Just still kind of confused. Well more like puzzled. 🤔

All good. I appreciate. I wasn’t thrilled with the camera anyway but I was in a bind. It served it purpose. I was probably gonna take it back anyway. I sent in what I needed yesterday so assignment was actually fulfilled but they asked me for more. I’ll buy what I really want or ask for it for Christmas.

I don’t have recovery software where can I down load it. And unless the card got compromised in that initial transfer because that was brand new as well. This will just suck if I have gone and lost. Everything. It wasn’t my computer so I couldn’t leave them on there. And this has never happened to me in 25 years of shooting.

It’s not clear to me what method you used to transfer the files to your computer.
It doesn’t seem like you used the Canon EOS Utility. The camera should prevent you from deleting files in the camera using a connected computer.
If you used a card reader to drag and drop files from the card to your computer, then it is possible that you accidentally performed a move, instead of a copy. If there are no folders on your card, then the accidental move seems even more likely.
I always recommend that people should use the right mouse button to copy files. You will get the option to “move, copy, or cancel.”
I believe an accidental move scenario is what John was talking about in earlier posts.
