EOS Rebel T5i takes blurry photos after long delay

It’s kind of hard because I can’t put a video, but I just picked up a t5i today and I’ve been testing it out. When taking pictures I hear the click and then the screen turns off for a few seconds then turns back on and the picture is blurry, does anyone know why it’s doing this?

Greetings ,

Since the t5i was released 12 years ago, can you tell us a little bit more about this camera's history.

I assume you bought it used or second hand? What lens did it come with.  Brand / model?

Have you reset the cameras settings to defaults?  What brand and type of storage media are you using?

After resetting the camera, put the camera into [A+] and ensure the lens is set to AF.

Go outside. Take some images and report the results.

I got it second hand, both cannon lens 18-55 and 50-250. How do I rest the settings on the camera. Also could it be something with my SD card. I’m using the one that i got with the camera.

It sounds like the picture is out of focus or camera shake due to a slow shutter speed. The camera can be reset with the mode dial set to P Mode.

This may not fix your problem, but we will have a clean slate to start with 🙂

This is from page 214 of your T5i manual.

Simple thing to see what shutter speeds the camera is using. Sounds like slow speeds. Set the camera on P mode, go outside with bright light and take pictures. What happens?

Are you new to a digital camera?  You can download the user guide from Canon, possibly find the printed version on ebay or used equipment dealers like UsedPhotoPro.com, KEH.com etc.
