EOS Rebel T5 Need help with screen mirroring to a MACBOOK

Hello all,

I have a Canon EOS REBEL T5 and can’t figure out how to mirror my screen to my MacBook. I purchased a USB C data transfer interface cable cord wire, but it didn’t work except to transfer photos/video. I bought a USB C to HDMI cable but it didn’t fit my camera (wrong connectors). I am wondering what is the correct cord I need, and if I will need to download some sort of software to see what I am recording on my camera to my MacBook once I get the correct cable lol… I am using this camera for content and I want to make sure that I stay in the frame while shooting.

thank you everyone in advance!

you need to download the appropriate Canon’s Utility Software first, next make sure you have the latest update for your camera, lastly tether your camera-macbook together with the supplied cable. the program is the key.

Depending on what you want to do, you should be able to plug in a mini-hdmi and get an HDMI capture card for the mac.

You can use the Canon EOS Utility, but that will not transfer video, just still images.

It would be better to just get a real HDMI monitor intended for cameras.
