EOS Rebel T4i Mode Dial Changing On Its Own

Recently, my T4i seems to have started changing the mode dial from M to P on its own pretty much any time I use it. I primarily use it for video on M mode, so it it gets pretty frustrating when I need to fiddle with it to get it back to M mode in the middle of the shot because it automatically changes the mode dial setting to P mode on its own when I'm filming. If anyone here has a fix or firmware update I should consider, it would really be appreciated. Thanks

You have to be bumping it.  It doesn't have any means of locomotion of its own.

Sorry, I didn't make clear what was exactly happening. The mode dial will still be on the M position, but the camera itself would change to P mode automatically. It changes on its own without me adjusting the mode dial physically.
