I am new to the R7. So far, really enjoy it but am having trouble adjusting my aperture settings. I am not using "mirrorless" lenses but instead using a variety of Canon and Tamron lenses with the Canon adapter ring. What am I doing wrong? Please and thank you for your assistance.

How you adjust the aperture setting depends on the mode you are using and also any custom configurations.
When the mode dial is set to Av turn the main dial - next to the shutter button - to change aperture value. When the mode dial is set to M you need to turn the dial that is around the outside of the joystick on the back of the camera. It is also possible with Fv mode, once the aperture value is selected use the main dial to change it.
This assumes you haven’t changed anything on the camera’s customise dials settings.
