EOS R7: Shapes forming in equalize mode -- HELP PLEASE!!

Hi all

Just upgraded from my 70d and 100-400II to the R7 with the RF 100-500

Went for my 1st soot on Sunday, I mainly do aviation photography so when checking for dust spots given the open skies around the aircraft, while looking at the photos in equalize mode, i am noticing something I have never seen before, random shapes are forming around the aircraft, looks so puzzling given im using the same exact set up as i was on my 70d for years.

note, I shoot in AV mode, JPEG and pretty much all major settings are on Auto.

I have attached a couple of pics to see.

If anyone could help with this would be very appreciated!

Thank you

*Which* JPEG mode. These look like jpeg artifacts. I would shoot only maximum resolution+fine.

Oh, and what is "equalize" mode?

I will check the camera seeing on the JPEG mode.

equalize mode is on my PC during editing process, as shown on my attached pics, not on the camera, sorry for the confusion.

Equalise mode is a technique in Photoshop.

  • Duplicate the image as a new layer <CMD> / <CTRL> J
  • Choose Image > Adjustments > Equalise from the menu

This makes a version of the image that will show the dust spots more clearly.
