I have a Canon R7, and usually use the Canon RF 100-400 lens. As I am fairly new to this camera, I was exploring the (overwhelming) menus and decided to clear all custom functions, with the idea of resetting them so I could become more familiar with each.
Now the AF will not work at all. The lens switch is set to AF, and I was using 'Whole area AF', although the same problem exists with Spot or 1-point AF. I can manually focus without a problem. Changing lenses doesn't help - I tried my old Tamron 18-400 (with adapter) as well as a Canon Macro 100 mm.
Is there a setting that I'm missing? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

Check the AF/MF switch on the front of the camera body.
If it still does not work properly, try switching to Green [A+] mode on the top dial. If it still does not work, then I suggest that you contact Canon Support 1-800-OK-CANON.

The R7 in the front, it has a switch for AF. Did you check that?

Thanks. I eventually deleted all custom settings in the menu, added the few that I want, and it now works as it should.
