Hello,
I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with the R6 Mark III. I have tried everything and cannot figure out how to tether to Lightroom classic. I have the most up to date Lightroom Classic...I have the newest firmware on the Canon. The camera is not even being recognized by lightroom. This is literally the only thing I needed this camera to do. Has anyone successfully tethered their camera?
Thanks!

I am also having trouble shooting tethered with my brand-new Canon R6 Mark III.
Lightroom is up to date 15.2.1, my computer runs OS Tahoe 26.3.1, and it just won't work!
The cable is also new and 2 meters long. Who can help me?

When I reported that my Belkin cables did not work, I was referring to the EOS Utility. I use LR for post processing. The Canon software is what I use for remote controlled shooting.
I suggest you that you test remote shooting with DPP or EOSU. It should work with the Canin cable, but not with cables that lack baluns.

I’ve been dealing with the same issue.
Spoke with Canon, updated everything, and EOS Utility isn’t available yet for the R6 Mark III on macOS Tahoe. Lightroom recognizes the camera as a drive, but won’t tether.
Out of curiosity I tested Capture One (free 7-day trial, no credit card) and tethering worked immediately.
So for me, it looks like the camera is fine, just waiting on Adobe to add support.

Sounds you found your own solution - hope the cable works just fine for you. Thanks for reporting your solution back. If you would, could you please mark it as a solution? Google picks these things up and it might help someone else in the same situation. Thanks!

2 key items:
@jrhoffman75 provided the primary reason for the lack of connectivity, with LR
@Waddizzle pointed out the importance of cable type and length.

I bought the Canon IFC-100U Interface Cable, result? Nothing! It still doesn't work. Angry and frustrated.
Could it be a wrong setting on the camera?

Hi Aatj,
I'm sorry to hear you are having a frustrating experience with your camera. Through Canon support we only have information on products and software made by Canon, so we do not have information on what may need to be adjusted in Lightroom. There is a setting on the camera itself to double check with an issue like this.
The camera can be set to use the USB port for different purposes. If it is set to the incorrect option photo software would not see it. To check that put the camera into either P, Tv, Av, or M mode and press the Menu button. Go to the fourth page under the networking tab, select Choose USB Connection App, and make sure it is set to Photo Import/Remote Control. That is the option that allows the camera to communicate with photo software.

R6M3 not yet supported by LrC. Not a cable or camera setting issue.

JRH, I don't have a R 6 Mk III to try but I suspect if you have the correct cable (as pointed out by others) it will tether to LR v15. The problem is the handling of the R6 Mk III's CR3 file may not be accurate.
It should be easy to see if Windows sees the R6 Mk III in File Explorer or whatever the Mac equivalent is.. If Windows can see it, so should LR. BTW, the list you offered is not always right up to date. I've been dealing with Adobe far too long to not realize that.
I would definitely try, "... the option that allows the camera to communicate with photo software."
And.... "... ensure you are using a high-quality USB-C"
