Just got an r6, markii and the touch and drag works in the viewfinder, but not the lcd screen. What settings do I change to get it to work on the screen too?

Try testing it using Intelligent Auto shooting mode, Green [A+] mode.

Contrary to what Googles AI says, I can only get it to work through the EVF. If it's enabled, when shooting with the LCD, I have to tap or touch a target and the focus point moves to that position. This kind of makes sense. I don't use this feature, although I can see why it is available. Most of my targets are small and I can frame in post.

I tried to get the LCD to drag in the R6 II and the R5 II, and the results were the same. Tap on the subject to move the FP.

Greetings,

Check your camera settings.

Touch and drag does not work in the EVF, so I'm not clear what you mean by that, terminology etc?

Ok.  What Newton said makes sense.  He's referring to what he can see, not the actual touching and dragging of the focus point.

I have touch and drag enabled, set to relative, top of the screen and relative. Sensitivity set to 0.

I can tap the screen and switch the focal point, but not touch and grab.

It is also on servo mode with a 1-pt AF, whole area tracking service AF - on, subject to detect - people, eye detection - auto,

I can tap the screen and set the focal point, just not the touch and drag feature that I have seen in videos.

Touch & Drag works like this...

When touch & drag AF is active and you are looking through the viewfinder, you can move your thumb over the active area of the LCD either drag the AF point (relative positioning) or tap the LCD active area to move the AF point to where you want (absolute positioning). With relative positioning it's kind of like moving the AF point with the joystick / multi controller. Personally I find using the joystick / multi controller more comfortable than using touch and drag.

If you want to move the AF point while looking / viewing the LCD screen, you need to make sure that touch shutter is disabled. Then you can tap or drag to move the AF point. You also need to make sure that the touch screen is active and not locked with the multi-function lock intermediate position on the power switch.

Note that if you are using "whole area AF" there is no indicated AF point until you focus on something.
