EOS R5 becomes unresponsive

Irv

My Canon EOS R5 occasionally stops responding when I press the shutter.  I am focusing on subjects that are not too close for the lens, there is plenty of battery power, plenty of memory remaining, and I recently updated the software.  It just doesn't respond for a while, then it does. Once I had to turn the camera off for a few seconds then back on in order for it to work again.  Is this an indication I need to send the camera in for repair?

After the shutter failed a few more times, I took Marc's advice and called Canon. They recommended I send it in, which I did, following easy instructions they provided.  Service was very quick. Six days including shipping both ways. They determined the upper cover button was sticking so they replaced the upper cover assembly.

Irv, glad it worked out! Six days, great turn-around.

From my perspective the Canon sales and support groups have always been a great resource and committed to total customer care.
