I cant believe you send a $4500.00 camera with no printed manuel. Is there a way to get a compact manuel like the one that came with my old tosd mark ii DSLR camera????

Hi Janel and welcome to the forum:
The trend not to provide hardcopy manuals is not unique to Canon, or even photography, and there are good reasons for not doing so:
1. Because modern cameras have so much electronics, they are subject to multiple firmware updates and manuals quickly become obsolete. That has happened with multiple R-series cameras and manuals are now issued according to their firmware versions. So, camera makers offer downloads for PDF version or on-line ones for their manuals.
2. They got flak because so many people never read the things (it's 1277 pages currently) and they were accused of simply creating waste, so that combined with 1 added further impetus to use electronic versions.
As a bonus, you can do text search on the PDF versions for specific phrases, something you can't do with a hardcopy, and by putting them on a cell phone or tablet one can carry them into the field for immediate access without bulk.
Here is a link to the current manual: you can take your pick to download the PDF or look at it as a HTML screen: cam.start.canon : For customers using the EOS R5 Mark II

This is the kind of jerky response you would expect from Canon.

My manual for my T7 is 326 pages. I can chose page 319 and access the index then click on the topic that might have several pages for reference. I downloaded the manual on my laptop and Android phone.
For an old printer, the CSR said the manual would be abut 500 pages.

Nina Bailey publishes useful summary books.

John's suggestion is super helpful for those who want a book.
Please also consider that Canon provides firmware updates for its cameras. These updates add features. A printed manual cannot be searched, and is basically obsolete after the first update.
Canon updates its manual's as new features are added via new firmware. Electronic manuals are searchable and can be carried on a phone, iPAD or PC.
Examples:
This is a compelling reason for electronic manuals. 😀
