EOS R5 Mark II Focus mode is greyed out w/RF 28-70 f2

Hi - I am wondering why the "Focus mode" option in the AF menu is greyed out. I have a RF 28-70 F2 on an R5m2 body. When I select "Focus mode" and push the set button it says, "Use the lens switch to set IS", however, this lens does not have an IS switch. I've tried different modes including Manual and this menu option remains greyed out giving that message no matter the mode I have tried. I have firmware 1.0.3. What am I missing here? Thanks!

-Noah

Focus mode is used to switch between AF and MF modes.  Some budget priced lenses don’t have the AF/MF switch.

Your lens has the AF/MF switch, which is why the option is greyed out when this lens is attached.

To me this sounds like you might have spotted a bug where the firmware engineers have used a message intended for lenses with IS - but no IS switch, and applied it to the Focus menu setting, which is greyed out since your lens has the AF/MF switch.

Firmware v1.03 has had other reported issues.

I suggest that you open a service ticket with Canon service.  This misbehavior needs to be brought to their attention.
